Cycling South Africa, actually the whole Africa to Good Hope, and back by ship

For the last country on my Trans-African cycling journey, South Africa, I didn’t have enough videos to make a short movie. Therefore I included a recap of the 23 countries I crossed after leaving Switzerland.

This video features the rural landscape of the Northern Cape and Western Cape: the deserted Namaqualand and its flowers, the mountain passes near Leliefontein, the coastal villages between Lutzville and Saldanha, the crossing of Cape Town, and the very scenic route to the Cape of Good Hope.

I also added a bit of my return to Europe via cargo ship, but not as much as in the longer video of the cargo trip journey, to be published later.

More details and stories in the South African blog posts and more photos in the South African Flickr album. The much nicer HD version only works on the vimeo website.

Places traveled:
Vioolsdrif, Springbok, Kamieskroon, Leliefontein, Garies, Kotzesrus, Lutzville, Doringbaai, Lambert’s Bay, Eland’s Bay, Velddrif, Vredenburg, Saldanha, Langebaan, Cape Town, Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Cape of Good Hope
